Chris Ashton To Consider Premiership Return

Chris Ashton, who was the former rugby wing for England is thinking of returning to the premiership in a bid to rebuild his international career. This initiative was taken soon after Julian Savea, the New Zealand wing made an announcement of his movement to Toulon as his best replacement. Once the commitments of Super rugby and Wellington Hurricanes come to an end, Savea would reach the South coast in France this year. Instead of joining the season last top 14, the 27 year old will arrive in France to join a team that has sold former Saracens wing already soon after completing one year with the club.

Ashton is undoubtedly a great player and is one of the few players representing England in both rugby union and rugby league. From Northampton Saints, he moved to Saracens in 2012-13 seasons. It is indeed predicable that return to Saracens is not happening as the Premier Champions have come to an agreement to re-sign David Strettle and Alex Lewington from London Irish. Ashton put in best efforts to make a Saracens play against London Irish for the first time in 2012. Only If Ashton was available during this season, the plans of Saracens would have been entirely different, especially after they allowed Ashton to leave in the year 2017 with 48 trials and 105 appearances.
