Ireland triumphs over England in Six Nations

It’s surely a gala time for the Irish rugby fans- their favorite squad has once again continued with their unbeaten Six Nations record defeating England this time which also marked the latter’s first loss in the tournament. The Irish team ran to victory with a great 19-9 win.

The phenomenal Ireland rugby squad stayed on the course to replay their glory as great 6 Nations champs for the 1st time since the year 1983. The triumph matched the Irish team’s all-time great record of ten wins in a row & broke a 4-game losing trend against England.

The Irish team trips to Scotland and Wales whilst England would be playing Scotland and France.

As the match started, Ireland took up the command quite early with around 90% control on possession in initial quarter of the match. This early dominance led to a couple of Sexton penalty attempts, offset by a smart drop goal from Ford which slashed the Irish advantage to something like 6-3. However, Ford missed out on his 1st penalty try & Sexton hit a 3rd that put the Irish team up to 9-3. (more…)

Chris Ashton doesn’t expect England call-up

Saracens FC winger Chris Ashton has admitted that he does not expect to be a part of Stuart Lancaster’s England team for the upcoming Six Nations Championship.

The 27 year old has a prolific record at international level, scoring 19 tries in just 39 appearances for the national team and he was also the star for Saracens FC as they thrashed Munster 33-10 in the European Champions Cup, scoring two tries.

However, in terms of the international scene for England, he remains a rank outsider with the likes of Marland Yarde, Anthony Watson, Jonny May and Semesa Rokoduguni all being preferred by Lancaster ahead of Ashton. (more…)

Paul Aiton Making All The Correct Moves

Paul is showcasing sheer class from the side of Leeds Rhinos. When he arrived at Papua New Guinea the crowd went crazy and he did whatever he could to create an impact. He from the beginning was considered to be a sensational star. He went to the market to spread the shirt of Rhinos where was mobbed by the crowds. He has played for the national team and the feeling is sensational.

The Chief Executive of the Rhinos had given him extra playing kit and he took it with him to be able to practise. He carefully saved up his kits of training of the last year so that can be used while he plays now. There was huge hue and cry amongst the crowd to see their local hero coming back to their hometown. His motive of going to the market was to distribute the t-shirts amongst the street kids and so that he could see them smile. His motive was noble but it turned out to be something different. The crowd went berserk as they saw him distributing the t-shirts and that was when the police had to be called and things turned ugly.

It was a memorable trip for him no doubt about that as he travelled to the village of his grandfather and the crowds greeted him wearing their costumes of ceremonies which was really special for him. He was with his aunties walking fro and toward. The village still lacks basic amenities and that is when he felt that his life at Leeds had changed for the better and that he was fortunate to have that kind of a lifestyle. No matter how tough the challenges become he continues to strive leaving behind all the trails but the people of village are strong to live under bad conditions.

All Blacks Are Geared Up For The Clash Against Springboks

New Zealand’s All Blacks and South Africa’s Springboks are ready to face each other for the rugby match at the Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg on the 5th of October, 2014. Ellis Park is the home ground for Springboks but then it seems that All Blacks are going to use this fact against Springboks.

No doubt that the Ellis Park stadium is extremely intimidating and daunting but then the All Blacks are of the opinion that they can win over the crowd in a convenient manner.

In order to win over the crowd, All Blacks realize that they have to maintain their composure especially in the first twenty minutes of the match and slowly try to increase their score.

If the New Zealand team is able to do this then Ellis Park stadium will turn out to be just like any other game venue and Springboks will be caught up in an uncomfortable situation.

Richie McCaw (captain of All Blacks) seems pretty confident before the match against Springboks. His confidence might have stemmed from the fact that the team had performed well and won the match against Argentina’s Pumas last week. The skipper of All Blacks is noticeably calm this time.

McCaw said that everyone in the team is focused and is aware of the importance of this challenge. All the players have trained sufficiently as well and are really looking forward to perform exceptionally well against the Springboks.

Richie McCaw is also going to make a milestone record of making the 134th appearance for All Blacks and is going to surpass the record of Colin Meads.

However, McCaw has made it clear that he is eagerly waiting for the match against Springboks because he wants All Blacks to deliver a good performance and even win the match if possible. He will think about the milestone later.
